Wolverhampton Wanderers – Then and Now

Wolves’ famous gold and black kit is an icon of English football but it wasn’t the club’s original plan.

In the 1880s, Wolves wore shirts with red and white stripes and only changed because their kit clashed with Sunderland in the first game of the 1890-91 season.

It was just a year later that Wolves first wore their famous old gold and black home shirt, in a kit that we’ve replicated in our Wolverhampton Wanderers – Then and Now piece of Framed Subbuteo.

By pairing that historic kit with a more modern, classic Wolves kit, we have created a unique piece of football memorabilia that Wolves fans of all ages are sure to cherish.

  • Frame measures 20cm x 20cm
  • Depth of frame allows it to stand on any flat surface
  • Rear fixture allows for easy wall hanging
  • Features two Subbuteo figures
  • ‘Then’ figure in Wolves’ first gold and black home kit from 1891
  • ‘Now’ figure in a classic Wolves home kit
  • Subbuteo figures sit on a green background
  • Finished with a white surround
  • Glass front
  • Please note all Framed Subbuteo pieces are put together by hand and may vary slightly from the photos shown
