Ron Flowers and Gerry Hitchens scored within a minute to put England in control, Toni Allemann replied for the visitors, and John Connelly’s header sealed the win.
The match marked Bobby Robson and Peter Swan’s final caps, Johnny Haynes’ 17th outing as captain, and extended England’s unbeaten Wembley run to ten games.
